The Home is inspected not only by the Care Inspectorate but the Lothian and Borders Fire Department and Environmental Health Department.

The Abercorn Nursing Home is Registered with the Social Care & Social Work Inspection Scotland (SCSWIS), known as the Care Inspectorate for 22 residents and is Managed by Registered Nurse of some 34 year's experience in general medical, and surgical disciplines, including palliative care and has specialised for the last 20 years in the care of the elderly. We have a committed and caring team and offer a high standard of care designed to meet the individual needs of the residents who have varying degrees of physical and mental ill health.
Registered staff and carers are on duty 24 hours a day to assist with all activities of daily living. Chefs, laundry staff and domestics are also in attendance throughout the day.
Accommodation is provided in single, twin and en-suite rooms. All bedrooms are carpeted and have central heating, vanity units and modern furniture. Residents are encouraged to bring small personal items of furniture or mementos from home.
