About us

The Abercorn Nursing Home is Registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care for 22 residents and is Managed by a Registered Nurse of some 34 years experience in general medical, and surgical disciplines, including palliative care and has specialised for the last 20 years in the care of the eldery. We have a committed and caring team and offer a high standard of care designed to meet the individual needs of the residents who have varying degrees of physical and mental ill health.

Registered staff and carers are on duty 24 hours a day to assist with all activities of daily living. Chefs, laundry staff and domestics are also in attendance throughout the day.

Accommodation is provided in single, twin and en-suite rooms. All bedrooms are carpeted and have central heating, vanity units and modern furniture. Residents are encouraged to bring small personal items of furniture or mementos from home.

The Home is inspected not only by the Care Commission but the Lothian and Borders Fire Department and Environmental Health Department.
