The Abercorn Nursing Home remains a sought after residence in which to place ones' loved ones. This we feel is a reflection of the standard of care we give and the professional manner in which we try to ensure our residents feel at home and are looked after. Bed availability has historically been filled from our waiting list of people wishing to place their family or relatives. In an effort to assist both families looking for vacancies and for Social Workers who wish to know if there are beds available, without having to look at the Edinburgh City Bed Vacancy System, the following details are kept updated to show if a waiting list is in use or if there is actually a bed available:

  Shared - Nil

Waiting List: Single Room - Nil

  Shared Room - Nil

It is appreciated that trying to place loved ones can be a traumatic time. However, we would respectfully request that in the case were you have entered a relative or friend’s name on to the Abercorn waiting list and then subsequently place them elsewhere, as a vacancy in our Home was not available in the required timescale, then please inform us to remove the entry. This will not only assist us but also those families who are desperate to find a good home for mum or dad but do not contact us as we show a waiting list of 3 or 4 people only to find out that the waiting list was worthless as individual had been placed in other homes.
